the Philharmonic Orchestra of Strasbourg plays the complete version of the opera “Les Troyens” by Berlioz in concert version ” (240 minutes). The concert is recorded for Warner.
The gods of Olympus will reign over Strasbourg during the Easter weekend. The famous epic of the Trojans, inspired by Virgil's Aeneid, will recount the fall of Troy. The tragic love of Dido, Queen of Carthage, for Prince Aeneas, will burst on stage in the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès.
Joyce DiDonato, brilliant mezzo-soprano, will interpret Dido.
Michael Spyres, great tenor, will play Aeneas. The winner of the “Victoires de la classique 2017”, Marianne Crebassa, will participate. The choir of the Opéra National du Rhin, the Karlsruhe Opera and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Strasbourg, under the direction of John Nelson, eminent Berlioz’s expert, will produce the opera as a concert version.
