Obligation to place environmental Crit'air sticker on the car's windshield in Strasbourg from 1st November 2017
Sep 19, 2017
The French municipalities have the possibility to define environmental zones (restricted road traffic area) according to weather and air pollution.
The aim is to reduce particulate pollution. Driving a declared environmental zone is then only permitted with an "environmental sticker" (Crit'Air vignette) corresponding to the vehicle type and attached to the windshield.
The environmental sticker makes a classification of vehicles based on their environmental impact. In case of non-compliance, administrative penalties may be imposed.
The stickers are already in use in several french cities as Paris, Lyon, Grenoble, Lille ...
Strasbourg has also announced the establishment of an environmental zone and the measure will come in force until 1st November 2017.
The environmental stickers can be ordered from abroad.
